Thank you for this meal we are about to receive for the nourishment of our bodies … Amen.
I grew up on this verse before every meal and it stuck with me throughout my life. My grandfather use to say, “The Lord is my Sheppard and I see what I want” or “Bless this food so we can eat already.” As I got older, I started babbling the verse to cut through all the technicalities so I could wolf down my food and get on with the rest of my day. It wasn’t until I started to mature in my holistic journey that I began to question everything and had to figure out was I saying something that I meant or was I just doing it out of a traditional habit? So why do we say Grace? There is a rhyme and a reason for this split second of meditative stillness and once you have a deeper perspective in the benefits, it can make a world of difference in your overall health.
Ring …. Ring…. You pick up the phone. “Hello”. You hear the other person on the line say, “I need to vent”. Now stop….
Detoxing does not always mean going without EVERYTHING. Trying to go to extremes is the worst case scenario, because it increases your chances of going through a healing crisis too soon. A healing crisis is when the body is forced into the healing mode as opposed to gently guiding the body. The severity of the side effects from stages of detoxing can be controlled if you take it nice and slow. Remember… this is a lifestyle adjustment.
The seasons are about to change, which means it’s time to clean house. Not just the physical house, but the mental and spiritual ones too. Clutter and the accumulation of unappreciated/ unused items are major energy bandits. Weight is what I like to call it, because each time that we move to a new duty station, our household goods are weighed. The movers don’t care if it’s sentimental items or junk, they just want to know how much does everything weigh? Ummmmm…. good question. It’s time to lose some weight my friends.
Cacao – Many people consider eating chocolate a
guilty pleasure. But chocolate is made from cacao (cocoa) beans, which in their natural, unprocessed, unadulterated state are rich in nutrients and are beneficial to health. It’s only when the cow’s milk is added that Houston we now have a problem.
Pineapples have exceptional juiciness and a vibrant tropical flavor that balances the tastes of sweet and tart. Not only are they sweet to the taste buds but also sweet to the body’s immune system. Pineapples are my spotlight in this episode of Happy Temple TV.
